This Privacy Policy describes how BYT Logistics Private Limited ("BYT," "We," "Us," or "Our") collects, uses, processes, and shares the information collected from users ("Users," "You," or "Your") of the BYT mobile application and website (collectively, the "Platform").

By accessing or using the Platform and our services, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

1. THE DATA WE COLLECT

We collect information directly from you, automatically through your use of the Platform, and sometimes from third parties.

1.1. Information Provided Directly by You

All Users	Financial information (bank account details, credit/debit card numbers for payment processing).	To process payments for deposits, bidding fees, platform commissions, and freight charges securely.
All Users	Communications with BYT support.	To resolve issues, improve service quality, and for training purposes.

1.2. Information Collected Automatically

Location Data: Precise or approximate location data from your mobile device when the BYT app is running, necessary for tracking shipments and matching nearby vehicles/shipments.
Device and Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the Platform, including IP address, operating system, hardware model, app version, access dates and times, and pages viewed.
Transaction Data: Details of bids placed, bids accepted, fees paid, deposits collected, and payments processed.
Telematics/Tracking Data (For Truckers using BYT services): If you purchase/use BYT's GPS or telematics devices (fuel sensors, dashcams), we will collect data from those devices related to location, speed, fuel consumption, and driving behavior.

1.3. Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from partners (like payment gateways, verification agencies, or insurance providers) to perform necessary checks and complete transactions.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

We use the collected data for the following primary purposes:

2.1. Service Provision: To operate the Platform, facilitate the bidding system, connect Shippers and Truckers, and execute successful transport services.
2.2. Verification and Security: To verify the identity and credentials of Users (especially Truckers' vehicle and commercial details) and maintain the security and integrity of the Platform.
2.3. Payment Processing: To collect Shipper Deposits and Freight Charges, collect Trucker Bidding Fees and Commissions, and process payouts to Truckers and refunds/points to Shippers.
2.4. Tracking and Monitoring: To provide real-time location and status updates of the Shipment to the respective Shipper and Trucker, particularly using the location data collected.
2.5. Communication: To send service-related communications, transaction confirmations, security alerts, and customer support responses.
2.6. Product Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve the functionality, design, and user experience of the Platform, including the efficiency of the bidding algorithm.
2.7. Marketing and Promotions: To inform you about new services, features, and the Auxiliary Products (GPS, insurance, etc.) offered by BYT or its partners, subject to your consent (see Section 5).
2.8. Compliance and Legal: To comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms and Conditions, and resolve disputes (including tax obligations like TDS/TCS).

3. SHARING AND DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION

We will only share your information in the following circumstances:

3.1. With Other Users:
- Shippers and Truckers: When a Bid is accepted, we share the necessary contact and shipment details (e.g., location, time, vehicle type, name, phone number) between the Shipper and the selected Trucker to facilitate the transaction.
- We will not share financial account numbers with other Users.
3.2. With Third-Party Service Providers: We may share data with vendors, consultants, and service providers who need access to such information to perform services on our behalf, such as:
- Payment processors and gateways.
- Cloud hosting and data storage providers.
- Insurance providers (if you opt to purchase insurance).
- Background and identity verification agencies.
3.3. For Auxiliary Products: If you purchase GPS, insurance, or other Auxiliary Products, we will share necessary data with the manufacturers, suppliers, or insurance companies to provision the product/service.
3.4. Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe, in good faith, that such action is necessary to comply with legal processes or protect the rights, property, or safety of BYT, our Users, or the public.
3.5. Business Transfers: In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company.

4. DATA SECURITY AND RETENTION

4.1. Security Measures: We use reasonable security measures, including physical, technical, and administrative safeguards, to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

4.2. Retention: We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. We also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including Indian tax and transport laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

5. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

5.1. Access and Correction: You may review and update most of your account information by logging into your account settings.

5.2. Marketing Opt-Out: You can opt-out of receiving promotional emails and notifications from us by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in those communications. Please note that you cannot opt-out of receiving service-related communications (e.g., transaction alerts).

5.3. Location Data: You can disable the GPS/location tracking on your mobile device. However, doing so may limit your use of core services on the Platform, as accurate location data is essential for matching and tracking shipments.
